being sick in a kitchen is hard.

all last week everyone in the restaurant was sick. i thought that i had gotten by without getting it but apparently i was wrong. i woke up this morning feeling awful. i had to go in early to talk to chef about my new menu. we figured out what we think will go on it and i spent all day prepping. 2 hours on your feet when you are sick can get a little rough. i saw the first draft of my menu. it is really weird seeing a dessert menu with my name on the top of it, and desserts that i have thought about making for months, all on the same page. i got about half of the work that i wanted to get done actually done today. it was finally cool in my kitchen due to all the rain today. but soon it will be hot and gross again. oh well. i feel like i am respected at this job. people seem to enjoy my food and they think i am a nice person. i am really enjoying myself here. lets just hope that when my menu does come out that people will love the think i make and they will keep wanting to buy them!
